Why imagination is more important than knowledge !?

“  Imagination is more important than knowledge . For knowledge is limited to all we know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.” - Albert Einstein In today’s competitive and aggressive world, we are always tricked to believe that knowledge is more important than imagination. Children are encouraged to adapt the rote learning method to memorise things, instead of using their own creativity and imagination to understand concepts. It is high time that this should change. Let us take a look at the reasons why imagination is more important than knowledge and not the other way round: Imagination boosts our creativity Imagination often helps to boost creativity. Even while reading stories, we all tend to imagine the characters portrayed in the novel. Of course, the writer’s character which she/he had imagined is also different from what others imagine. And later if a movie is adapted from that book, we o...

Why failures form a crucial part of success? πŸ†

What do you think when the word ‘failure’ comes to your mind? Do you get nervous? Do you get upset? Well, after reading this, I hope you change your perspective and understand why failure is a part of success.

“I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.”

- Thomas A. Edison

Let’s take the instance of one of the most prolific inventors of all times - ‘Thomas Alva Edison’. As the famous story goes, Edison failed to refine the light bulb so many times. It took him 10,000 attempts to make his invention perfect. However, rather than giving up after 9,999 attempts, Edison did not lose his hopes and kept on trying AND HE SUCCEEDED. Just imagine what had happened if Edison had given up?

Edison is an inspiration and proves that if everyone deals with the inevitable failures in an optimistic way and works hard, then success is surely inevitable! He quotes failure as part of success.

“The phoenix must burn to emerge.”

- Janet Fitch

  • 10 THINGS TO REMEMBER :-

1. Build on failures and use them as the stepping stones towards success.
If you fail, that doesn’t mean that you haven’t achieved anything. Instead, it means that you have now developed the required skills and knowledge and also the sense of determinism. Build on failures. Don’t think that you wasted your time trying. Use your failure as the stepping stone towards success.

2. Don’t dwell on the mistake.
If we dwell on our mistakes and keep thinking about it day and night, it makes us lose our confidence and we eventually start having negative thoughts, which affects our mental health. These feelings of defeatism leads us to quit and give up easily.
Instead, try to keep a calm mind and practice meditation. Go out for a walk, be close to nature. This will help to clear all the cluttered thoughts in your mind and you will be able to think rationally. Try to analyse your mistake and correct it. Have self confidence and try again.

3. Don’t waste your precious time and energy. Get over it!
Don’t ever waste your time and energy on repenting over a failure. Instead, analyse where you went wrong and try to correct it the next time.

4. Never react emotionally on a mistake. Crying and repentance takes you no where. Instead act rationally and think logically.
After facing a failure, though it’s natural to react emotionally, try not to let your emotions take control of you. Don’t waste your time and energy on crying and repenting. Try to think logically; think where you went wrong and try to act accordingly.

Work hard, and you will succeed ✨

5. If you fail, that means you are on your way towards success.
If you fail, that doesn’t mean that you have not succeeded. It simply means that you are on our way to success. The real mistake is to not try. Failing is better than not trying at all. If you are failing, that means you are trying. And trust me, keep trying, you will be successful !

6. There is no shortcut to success. You must work for it.
Don’t waste your time looking for any shortcuts. Remember, there is no elevator for success, you have to take the stairs. If you work hard with persistence, success will be yours.

7. Look upon failure as an experience of learning.
Failure is a learning experience. It helps us to develop our skills, expand our knowledge, boost our sense of determination and confidence and builds our self esteem.

8. Don’t fear to fail.
People who fear to fail, don’t try. Failing is not a mistake, but to not try is the real mistake. Don’t be afraid to fail. Don’t be afraid to try new ideas and innovations.

9. Every successful person was once a failure.
Remember all the successful persons who were once a failures- Thomas Edison, Ernest Rutherford, Walt Disney, etc. There are such countless examples. Read their stories and you will surely feel motivated.

10. Failure is success, if we learn from it.
There is no use of such failure, if we don’t learn anything from it. Just like after giving a test, it is crucial to analyse where you went wrong and do the corrections, similarly, after facing a failure, one must analyse where he went wrong and try to improve so that he eventually succeeds.
